My news ticker had a
wild story tonight. An off-duty Virginia Beach Police Officer wrecked his car Sunday morning. A passer-by saw the accident and called 911, and when 2 local fire-fighters arrived, the off-duty officer got into an altercation with the responders. The officer stabbed two of them, and then went back and retrieved his gun from the vehicle and began firing on the responders. Thankfully missing. He then began walking away from the scene where responding State Police found him with the pistol, and arrested him. Video after the jump.
It isn't clear why the officer felt a need to attack the responders and there was no comment about alcohol being involved. The local news determined that the officer is still in his 18-month probation period with VBPD. The two fire-fighters are recovering with minor wounds.
I'm just glad this asshat is going to be canned from the police force, if that's how he behaved with first responders I can only imagine how fun he was with regular civilians on the street...
Well we have have a Distract Attorney in nearby Durham, NC who lost her job for essentially being bat-wing crazy. But she didn't do anything nearly so exciting.
ReplyDeleteNearby Raleigh has actually been doing a pretty good job of tracking down and catching murderers lately. I hope they don't take up this new hobby.
